Annual Membership Campaign Once Again, It’s Membership Time! As a result of the generosity of our patrons, the 2023 Membership Campaign exceeded the goal of $40,000 for the first time since 2019. On behalf of the Trustees, Corporators, and staff, thanks to all who participated. And by now you should have received membership information for calendar year 2024. Once again, our goal is $40,000, and as usual, the purpose is to avoid having to dip into endowment principal to cover expenditures that are neither for ordinary operations nor eligible for reimbursement from sources such as Community Preservation funds. (One such project that might be undertaken in 2024 is updating the look of the main reading room, which is currently anchored firmly in the 1950s.) In addition, there are always unbudgeted repairs to be accounted for. We therefore ask that you make every effort to join if you are not yet a member, to renew at your current level if you are a member, and if possible, to consider moving up to a higher level of membership. If you receive a solicitation in the mail, please use the enclosed return envelope to make your contribution. Otherwise you may click the link below and download a form. However you choose to contribute, we will be grateful for your support. DONATE As a privately funded public library, the Yarmouth Port Library does not receive funding from the Town of Yarmouth. The Yarmouth Port Library Association raises funds through private donations, grants, bequests, and other gifts. Your donations provide the operating funds we need to stay open today and in the future. Ways to Donate: - Make a financial contribution to the library - Talk to your employer about Employer Matching Contributions - Establish a Charitable Gift Annuity - Give a gift of stocks or bonds - Donate books and other library materials - Donate a museum pass - Donate historical materials to our archives and special collections - Give items or time to our fundraising events Please consult with your lawyer or financial adviser before donating. |
The Yarmouth Port Library is a privately funded, public library and operates exactly like the other two Yarmouth libraries (South and West).
ALL are welcome! Library services are funded by your membership contributions and donations.
